I've been to Rose's twice now, in different seasons and with different people, and both times it was great. The service was spot on both times and I appreciated how helpful and friendly our servers were. They made the dining experience more fun! The first time I went was with my husband, and the second was with my husband and some friends. I think I liked it slightly better with a bigger group. With just my husband and me, the portions were almost too big. Weird complaint, I know. But I wanted to eat it all and keep eating and I just got overwhelmed because of how full I was (and how good everything was)! Going with friends we still got a ton of food, but somehow the portions felt a bit more manageable. I like that they let you choose your own tasting menu and each person at the table can choose different things. This allowed us to try many of the options on the menu. And the food - it was all amazing. So, so good. People rave about the pork and lychee salad for a reason. Just get it. Yes, it seems like an unusual combo but it just works! Trust me on this one. I also LOVE their lemony spaghetti. Just thinking about it makes me crave it again. Rose's is definitely a "special occasion" kind of dinner, but it's worth it. It's a great place for a date night, a celebration, or somewhere to take your parents. I will definitely be back.

Located in Capitol Hill, Rose's Luxury was the first Michelin star restaurant we went to in DC. At our reservation time, we were seated immediately. Tables are a little close together so you can hear other people's conversations. FYI, you can come as you are. You don't need to come in a suit. I did some research prior to coming but you can choose what you want from the menu. First course we chose ice cream and caviar and pork and lychee salad. Second course was pasta al limone and mentaiko spaghetti. Third course was "brothers" beef back ribs. We added fried chicken. It was the special for the night. Dessert we chose mole negro sticky toffee pudding and horchata ice cream. Service was impeccable. They give you a little treat to take home and cook. Overall I would give 4.5. -challah bread with caraway honey butter 5 -bread was soft to cut and moist. Butter was aesthetic on presentation and tasted great. -ice cream and caviar 5 - who would have guessed but this is an excellent combination. I only wished I could have had more. Highly recommended. -pork and lychee salad 5 - their signature course. Make sure you mix it up before eating. Tons of flavor. -pasta al limone 3 - it was okay. Noodles were soft and cooked perfectly. Lemon can be overpowering so we mixed a little with the mentaiko spaghetti. -mentaiko spaghetti 5 - great dish. Noodles were creamy and delicious -"brothers" beef back ribs 5 - tasted like kalbi you would get from Korean restaurants. Meat was cooked right and not chewy. -fried chicken 5 - crunchy skin and moist meat. You drink the beer after each bite. -mole negro sticky toffee pudding and horchata ice cream 5 - not too sweet. The ice cream was easily the highlight. The pudding was a little rich but still tasty.

We had a very enjoyable experience celebrating our anniversary at Rose's. The servers were very friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the dishes. We started with the challah bread and honey butter (bonus points for the creative butter ribbon). Then, we moved on to the appetizers: the pork and lychee salad, and the caviar and ice cream. The caviar and ice cream sounded very interesting. It was enjoyable but a bit underwhelming. The pork and lychee salad surprised us the most because we didn't expect all the ingredients to come together so well. We also tried the pasta al limone and mentaiko spaghetti. Both were delicious, but the mentaiko spaghetti definitely stood out more. We then shared the beef back ribs, which were cooked perfectly and not chewy at all. For dessert, we ended with a generous serving of the coconut tres leches, which was very light as described and not overly sweet. Let me know if there are any further adjustments you'd like! We also liked the ambiance as it was more of a casual fun vibe and the clean bathrooms were definitely a plus.

Five stars for the food and 20 for the service. Honestly, one of the nicest and best birthday dinners we ever had. My guy and I celebrate our birthday on a day between mine (late April) and his (late May). We chose Rose's Luxury because of the great reviews. Lemme tell you, it is STELLAR. We didn't have a single meh, it's aight dish. Everything we ordered was delightful, surprising, clever, and delicious. Definitely get the caviar with ice cream and the pork and lychee salad (seriously, so many flavors in your mouth and you wanna lick the bowl clean ). The limone pasta was super delicious, the mentaiko pasta was so yummy. Mix the two together and you get magic in your mouth. Now let me talk about the service. Like I said, it was our birthday and they treated us like we were their favorite cousins. They gave us the signature lychee and pork salad to try because it was their most beloved dish. And for dessert, they gave us these delicious tiny nutty cakes with the COOLEST candle ever. Then they brought our our actual dessert, and let me tell you - I rode that struggle bus to finish it because it was incredible (it's the mole toffee pudding served with horchata ice cream.). Our server was kind, explained menu items, was attentive but never hovered. She had eyes in the back of her head because she'd be at the till then suddenly she's at our table asking how we were doing. We felt like they were genuinely happy we chose Rose's Luxury to celebrate our birthday. We needed wheelbarrows to cart us away. The plates were deceiving - by the time we got to the pastas, I was already full (I blame the bread service. That is dangerous!) Folks, come here for any occasion. You got through the week without homicide at the office? Go to Rose's Luxury. Went an entire day without yelling at your kids/significant other? Treat yo' self at Rose's Luxury. Celebrating a birthday? Rose's Luxury.
